Melford House Smoking Policy
Smoking inside the property is not permitted. An ashtray is provided for smokers outside the property.
The Melford House smoking policy forms part of the house insurance and therefore must be adhered to in order not to invalidate the insurance
Melford House will not compromise the safety of its guests. Offenders will normally be asked to vacate and a surcharge of £100 will be imposed to go towards the cleaning of carpets and curtains so that the rooms can be made habitable for the next guest. The offender will remain liable for the full amount of the stay and additional costs incurred until the room can be made habitable. Details of offenders will be distributed to other local hotels and guesthouses.
The following statistic is a quote directly from “Fire Statistics” published by the UK Statistics Authority ISBN no. 9781409832355
